It drives me crazy that people from the suburbs and city move here and continue to vote for the same policies that they fled from. The exact definition of insanity.
Just outside of my town there was a couple of city folk that bought 40 acres right up against the national forest. They let their little yorkie city dog out in the evening while they sat on the back porch enjoying the evening. A mountain lion jumped the fence and snatched the yorkie, jumped back over the fence and was gone into the woods. They called the sheriff’s office and wanted something done. The deputy that took the report said that it was because of where they lived and there wasn’t anything the sheriff’s office could do. They called the US forest service to see if they would do something and the local ranger that came out pretty much told them that they live next to a national forest where this kind of thing happens and they needed either needed to get a bigger dog or move back to the city if they didn’t like living in the lions’ back yard.
